CNA 1 Refresher Course Description
This course consists of 40 hours of theoretical and clinical instructions. It is offered to enrollees who have been or are currently listed on the Nurse Aide 1 Registry from any state and/or enrollees who have completed a NC state approved Nurse Aide 1 training program within two years prior enrollment

CNA 2 Refresher Course Description
This course consists of 45 hours of theoretical and clinical instruction. It is offered to individuals who have completed a North Carolina state approved Certified Nursing Assistant II program. You must be within two years of expiration to enroll in this refresher course.

Course Content/ Outline includes but not limited to:

Draw blood from patients and blood donors
-
Evaluate patients’ ability to withstand procedure
-
Explain blood-drawing procedure to patients and answer questions

Perform basic point of care testing, such as blood glucose levels

Prepare blood, urine and other specimens for testing

Verify patient/donor identity
-
Maintain medical equipment such as needles, test tubes and blood vials
